The electric Range Rover 2025 is coming: Here’s what we can tell you

London, England — Range Rover is preparing to dive into the all-electric vehicle segment with the Range Rover Electric for 2025. While there has been a plug-in hybrid variant of the model since 2023, this will be the first all-electric product from Land Rover. The competition in the luxury electric vehicle market is increasing with models like the GMC Hummer, Mercedes G 580, and Cadillac Escalade IQ, so it’s the right time for Range Rover to introduce its own formula. The response from the brand’s fans has been enthusiastic, with 40,000 people already expressing interest in the Range Rover Electric.

Visually, there isn’t much that sets this new version apart from the combustion engine models. The Range Rover Electric is unmistakably a Range Rover, with its spacious cabin, long hood, and aggressive rear design, a signature feature since its inception in 1970. The grille adorned with jewels, sparkling wheels, and premium paint of the electric version all reflect this tradition.

According to Range Rover, the decision to maintain the traditional styling of the Range Rover Electric was easy. They wanted to ensure it remained true to the original Range Rover design while also being an electric vehicle. The goal was to make the Range Rover Electric the most luxurious and high-performing SUV in the world without compromising.

There are some key differences between the Range Rover Electric and other models, such as the solid grille for aerodynamics. The wheel design has also been optimized for aerodynamics, with a unique logo on their hub. The underbody is nearly flat, and even the design of the charging port has been carefully considered.

In terms of performance, the electric model will be capable of wading through 900mm of water and will feature fast charging capabilities (800V architecture). The company claims that 97% of trips taken by owners will not require a recharge on the road. The model also offers one-pedal driving, allowing drivers to recharge the battery each time they lift off the accelerator, which is efficient in traffic.

To enhance comfort, the new model is equipped with noise-reducing headrests and new Body And Soul (BASS) seats that react to the music being played. The Range Rover Electric will be built on the same assembly line as the gasoline versions and is expected to be available at dealerships in the third quarter of 2025.

Auto123 will provide a more detailed analysis and a first test drive of this electric variant in early December, so stay tuned.
