Il s\u2019agissait en fait de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de cette troisi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Certains vous diront qu\u2019on \u00e9tait alors dans les bonnes ann\u00e9es de cette cuv\u00e9e\u00a0C3, car la d\u00e9cennie\u00a070 et le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es\u00a080 n\u2019ont pas donn\u00e9 d\u2019aussi joyeux r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n<p> Par contre, \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es\u00a060, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le muscle \u00e9tait encore roi, les combinaisons m\u00e9caniques offertes avec la Corvette \u00e9taient plus qu\u2019int\u00e9ressantes. C\u2019est le cas de la version essay\u00e9e qui profitait d\u2019un moteur\u00a0V8 de 427\u00a0pouces cubes\u2009; on est loin du 6-cylindres en ligne de 235\u00a0pouces cubes et 150\u00a0chevaux qui reposait sous le capot du premier mod\u00e8le en 1953. Quant aux \u00e9talons du bloc de 427\u00a0pouces, \u00e7a d\u00e9pendait de la configuration. En comptant le type de transmission qui lui \u00e9tait associ\u00e9 et la puissance disponible, l\u2019acheteur avait neuf options. La cavalerie passait de 390 \u00e0 435\u00a0chevaux, selon le cas.<\/p>\n<p> Autrement, en configuration de base, on retrouvait toujours le bon vieux V8 de 327\u00a0pouces cubes, bon pour 300 ou 350\u00a0forces, selon le travail effectu\u00e9 sous le capot avec le type de carburateur, entre autres (Rochester ou Holley).<\/p>\n<p> Une Corvette\u00a01968, qu\u2019importe la version, on peut dire que \u00e7a avance.<br \/> Notre mod\u00e8le<br \/> C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre un peu, beaucoup, pourquoi notre collectionneur propri\u00e9taire, Fran\u00e7ois Dupuis, a choisi de restaurer un tel exemplaire\u2009?
