Non pas par manque de capacit\u00e9, mais par manque de demande. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">General Motors<\/span><\/span> a confirm\u00e9 la mise \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat temporaire de son site d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques jusqu\u2019au 13 avril, prolongeant une interruption amorc\u00e9e \u00e0 la mi-mars. Environ 1 300 travailleurs sont touch\u00e9s par cette pause, une d\u00e9cision qui en dit long sur l\u2019\u00e9tat actuel du march\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"13yaq9r\" data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"1020\">Factory ZERO : symbole d\u2019une ambition \u00e9lectrique<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1290\">Cette usine n\u2019est pas anodine. Factory ZERO devait incarner l\u2019avenir \u00e9lectrique du constructeur am\u00e9ricain, produisant notamment le <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Chevrolet Silverado EV<\/span><\/span> et le <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">GMC Hummer EV<\/span><\/span>, deux mod\u00e8les embl\u00e9matiques d\u2019une nouvelle \u00e8re. Mais depuis un an, la production y avance par \u00e0-coups. D\u00e9j\u00e0 en janvier, General Motors avait r\u00e9duit de moiti\u00e9 les volumes. Cette nouvelle interruption confirme une tendance plus profonde : l\u2019\u00e9lectrique ne progresse pas au rythme anticip\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"kllcag\" data-start=\"1537\" data-end=\"1574\">Une demande plus fragile que pr\u00e9vu<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1809\">Le march\u00e9 nord-am\u00e9ricain envoie des signaux contradictoires. L\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat pour les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques demeure r\u00e9el, mais il se heurte \u00e0 plusieurs freins bien connus : prix \u00e9lev\u00e9s, infrastructures in\u00e9gales et incertitudes \u00e9conomiques. Dans ce contexte, ajuster la production devient une n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 plut\u00f4t qu\u2019un choix strat\u00e9gique. GM parle d\u2019un simple r\u00e9alignement, mais sur le terrain, cela ressemble davantage \u00e0 un recalibrage majeur.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"4lkvwv\" data-start=\"2017\" data-end=\"2040\">Des milliards en jeu<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2237\">Derri\u00e8re cette d\u00e9cision, il y a aussi une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re difficile \u00e0 ignorer. General Motors a d\u00e9j\u00e0 inscrit plus de 7 milliards de dollars en d\u00e9pr\u00e9ciations li\u00e9es \u00e0 ses programmes \u00e9lectriques. Un montant qui illustre l\u2019ampleur des investissements consentis\u2026 et les attentes qui ne se sont pas encore mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1t62055\" data-start=\"2367\" data-end=\"2411\">Le retour en force des moteurs thermiques<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2413\" data-end=\"2498\">Pendant que Factory ZERO tourne au ralenti, une autre partie de l\u2019empire GM acc\u00e9l\u00e8re. Le constructeur pr\u00e9voit augmenter la production de ses camions lourds \u00e0 essence dans une usine du Michigan d\u00e8s cet \u00e9t\u00e9. Un retour aux fondamentaux pour Detroit, o\u00f9 les pick-ups et les VUS demeurent les v\u00e9ritables machines \u00e0 profits. Ce repositionnement n\u2019est pas isol\u00e9. Plusieurs constructeurs r\u00e9\u00e9valuent actuellement leurs ambitions \u00e9lectriques, notamment \u00e0 la suite de changements r\u00e9glementaires aux \u00c9tats-Unis sous l\u2019administration de <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Donald Trump<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"e1cdtx\" data-start=\"2988\" data-end=\"3027\">Une industrie en pleine r\u00e9\u00e9valuation<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3029\" data-end=\"3193\">Ce qui se joue \u00e0 Detroit d\u00e9passe le simple cas de GM. L\u2019ensemble de l\u2019industrie semble entrer dans une phase de transition plus lente et plus pragmatique que pr\u00e9vu. L\u2019\u00e9lectrique n\u2019est pas abandonn\u00e9, loin de l\u00e0. Mais l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019une adoption rapide et massive laisse place \u00e0 une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 plus nuanc\u00e9e, o\u00f9 cohabitent diff\u00e9rentes technologies.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"17dfyu3\" data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"3392\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3394\" data-end=\"3587\">D\u2019un point de vue automobile, cette d\u00e9cision est tout sauf surprenante. GM a probablement \u00e9t\u00e9 trop agressif dans son calendrier d\u2019\u00e9lectrification, misant sur une adoption plus rapide du march\u00e9. Le segment des camions \u00e9lectriques, en particulier, reste difficile \u00e0 rentabiliser. Les co\u00fbts sont \u00e9lev\u00e9s, les marges faibles et la client\u00e8le encore h\u00e9sitante. \u00c0 court terme, revenir aux camions thermiques est une d\u00e9cision rationnelle.
