La fameuse marque britannique de chars d\u2019assaut \u2014 de VUS de luxe con\u00e7us pour conqu\u00e9rir le volcan en \u00e9ruption le plus pr\u00e8s de chez vous, tout \u00e7a sans froisser votre plus beau costume trois pi\u00e8ces\u2026 Voil\u00e0 une marque de v\u00e9hicules dont on peut questionner la pertinence sur nos routes. Le Defender 130 ne fait rien pour dissiper cette inqui\u00e9tude.<\/p>\n<p>Le Defender 130 est la variante la plus longue et la plus imposante du Defender, qui existe aussi sous la forme du Defender 110, \u00e0 quatre portes, et du Defender 90, qui n\u2019en a que deux. En version 130 S, son prix de base est de 89\u00a0000 $, mais Land Rover use d\u2019une astuce de strat\u00e9gie marketing vieille comme le monde. Elle attire les gens avec cette variante de moins de 90\u00a0000 $, qui n\u2019a pas grand-chose \u00e0 offrir de bien s\u00e9duisant.<\/p>\n<p>La version qu\u2019il m\u00e9rite le coup d\u2019\u0153il est l\u2019\u00e9dition X, \u00e0 124\u00a0000 $, ou mieux encore, le Defender X-Dynamic SE, qui co\u00fbte 102\u00a0000 $. Celle-l\u00e0 a droit \u00e0 des roues de 20 pouces, des phares \u00e0 DEL signature et \u00e0 une sono ambiophonique Meridian qui lui donnent tout le caract\u00e8re esp\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u2019un camion Land Rover.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 ce prix, le Defender 130 n\u2019est pas seulement un camion, c\u2019est un \u00e9norme v\u00e9hicule familial qui peut accueillir sept ou m\u00eame huit passagers, selon comment vous le configurez. Sa forme tr\u00e8s carr\u00e9e et son empattement allong\u00e9 cr\u00e9ent beaucoup d\u2019espace \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re pour les occupants, et son toit quand m\u00eame assez \u00e9lev\u00e9 fournit tout le d\u00e9gagement n\u00e9cessaire m\u00eame pour la troisi\u00e8me rang\u00e9e de si\u00e8ges. Les si\u00e8ges capitaine en option am\u00e9liorent consid\u00e9rablement le confort des passagers de la deuxi\u00e8me rang\u00e9e. L&#8217;espace de chargement est particuli\u00e8rement g\u00e9n\u00e9reux, surtout lorsque les si\u00e8ges de la troisi\u00e8me rang\u00e9e sont rabattus.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019avant, les si\u00e8ges sont chauffants et ventil\u00e9s. La conception int\u00e9rieure est quand m\u00eame assez jolie et raffin\u00e9e. Les mat\u00e9riaux ont l\u2019air durables et la technologie est assez moderne.<\/p>\n<p>Au volant, l\u2019ergonomie est vraiment \u00e9tonnante. Le Defender est gros\u00a0: on grimpe dans l\u2019habitacle. La position de conduite \u00e9lev\u00e9e procure une bonne visibilit\u00e9, \u00e7a cr\u00e9e une impression de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, c\u2019est rassurant. La m\u00e9canique est aussi extr\u00eamement bien ficel\u00e9e\u2026 si elle ne tombe pas en panne. Le six cylindres de 3 litres d\u00e9veloppe une puissance de 395 chevaux et un couple de 406 livres-pied. C\u2019est du muscle. C\u2019est une puissance qui est toujours pr\u00eate \u00e0 servir. La bo\u00eete \u00e0 8 rapports est vraiment bien ajust\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7a rend le v\u00e9hicule \u00e9tonnamment maniable. Sur l\u2019autoroute, en tout cas. Ses dimensions en font un v\u00e9hicule tr\u00e8s peu pratique en ville. \u00c0 la pompe aussi, on perd le sourire\u00a0: on n\u2019a pas pu descendre sous les 15 litres aux 100 kilom\u00e8tres en ne faisant que de l\u2019autoroute, et au combin\u00e9, \u00e7a tournait autour des 17 litres aux 100 kilom\u00e8tres. Pour une motorisation qui se dit \u00ab\u00a0hybride\u00a0\u00bb, c\u2019est d\u00e9cevant.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9videmment, Land Rover pr\u00e9sente le Defender comme un v\u00e9hicule pr\u00eat \u00e0 visiter les dunes de sable du Sahara. Des conditions hors route extr\u00eames que son rouage int\u00e9gral et ses modes de conduite ajust\u00e9s \u00e9lectroniquement (y compris sa suspension) semblent con\u00e7us pour visiter sans effort.<\/p>\n<p>Sauf que comme souvent dans le march\u00e9 des VUS de luxe, les acheteurs ne visiteront \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s jamais un sentier qui n\u2019est pas asphalt\u00e9.
