Selon lui, la seule fa\u00e7on pour Ford de rivaliser, puis de surpasser l\u2019industrie automobile chinoise, est d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 leur propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle (PI).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00ab La mani\u00e8re dont nous allons les concurrencer est d\u2019obtenir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 leur PI, comme ils avaient besoin de la n\u00f4tre il y a 20 ans. Ensuite, nous utiliserons notre \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me d\u2019innovation, notre ing\u00e9niosit\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine et notre proximit\u00e9 avec le client pour les battre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale. \u00bb<\/em> \u2014 Jim Farley<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Une course essentielle pour l\u2019\u00e9conomie industrielle am\u00e9ricaine<\/h3>\n<p>\nFord ne parle pas d\u2019un projet lointain, mais d\u2019une strat\u00e9gie d\u00e9j\u00e0 en place. Son complexe <strong>BlueOval Battery Park<\/strong>, qui doit \u00eatre op\u00e9rationnel en 2026, produira des batteries <strong>lithium-fer-phosphate (LFP)<\/strong>. Cette technologie appartient \u00e0 <strong>CATL<\/strong>, g\u00e9ant chinois des batteries, mais son origine est am\u00e9ricaine.<\/p>\n<p>Selon <em>Bloomberg<\/em>, la chimie LFP a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverte aux \u00c9tats-Unis par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Texas avant d\u2019\u00eatre commercialis\u00e9e par A123 Systems, une startup financ\u00e9e sous l\u2019administration Obama. Cependant, A123 a fait faillite et la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 rachet\u00e9e par le plus grand fabricant chinois de pi\u00e8ces automobiles de l\u2019\u00e9poque. Aujourd\u2019hui, la Chine contr\u00f4le <strong>83 % de la production mondiale de batteries lithium-ion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>L\u2019ironie du sort : acheter aux Chinois une technologie am\u00e9ricaine<\/h3>\n<p>\nFord est en pleine course pour d\u00e9velopper un <strong>V\u00c9 abordable \u00e0 moins de 30 000 $<\/strong>, afin de contrer l\u2019offensive des constructeurs chinois. M\u00eame si les <strong>tarifs douaniers am\u00e9ricains<\/strong> ralentissent l\u2019arriv\u00e9e des marques chinoises comme BYD aux \u00c9tats-Unis, elles s\u2019imposent d\u00e9j\u00e0 en Europe et ailleurs. Ironiquement, ces m\u00eames taxes rendent le <strong>Lincoln Nautilus<\/strong> fabriqu\u00e9 en Chine plus co\u00fbteux une fois import\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n<p>Le constat est clair : l\u2019avenir du V\u00c9 ne se jouera pas uniquement sur la production de v\u00e9hicules, mais surtout sur la ma\u00eetrise de la batterie.
