Olds a obtenu un brevet de design pour son premier v\u00e9hicule, aujourd&#8217;hui commun\u00e9ment appel\u00e9 la Curved-Dash Oldsmobile. La Curved-Dash Oldsmobile, aliment\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#8217;essence, est reconnue comme \u00e9tant la premi\u00e8re automobile produite en s\u00e9rie, ce qui signifie qu&#8217;elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite sur une cha\u00eene de montage utilisant des pi\u00e8ces interchangeables. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 introduite par la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Oldsmobile en 1901 et produite jusqu&#8217;en 1907; 425 unit\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produites la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e, 2 500 en 1902, et plus de 19 000 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construites au total.
