Voici deux de ces mod\u00e8les la Jaguar XK 120 et 140 . Il y aura aussi la version 150 par la suite.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Pour bien comprendre l\u2019histoire du mod\u00e8le XK 140, il faut comprendre celle de sa devanci\u00e8re la XK120. Ce mod\u00e8le qui avait commenc\u00e9 son d\u00e9veloppement avant la seconde guerre mondiale est finalement arriv\u00e9 sur le march\u00e9 en 1948. Son concepteur Wilkiams Lyons avait mis au point un 4 cylindres qui devait au d\u00e9part se glisser sous le capot.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> Ce petit moteur qui faisait 150 chevaux a finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 plac\u00e9 dans une MG et Lyons d\u00e9veloppe un moteur 6 cylindres en ligne de 3,4 litres de 160 chevaux dans un ch\u00e2ssis tr\u00e8s l\u00e9ger. Dans des tests sur piste, la voiture atteint 203 km\/h, ce qui fait de la XK120 la voiture la plus rapide au monde. La voiture avait donc rempli son mandat celui de rouler \u00e0 au moins 120 milles \u00e0 l\u2019heure. La 140 pour sa part n\u2019a jamais roul\u00e9 \u00e0 140 milles \u00e0 l\u2019heure, mais s\u2019est tout de m\u00eame rendue \u00e0 130 milles \u00e0 l\u2019heure.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> La XK120 avait \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au Earl\u2019s Court Motor Show en 1948 (le salon de l\u2019auto britannique) et ses lignes avaient tout de suite fait sensation.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> Mieux encore, son prix est renversant.
